Announcement

October 7, 2017

Hi butterflies, I have an announcement to make. This is something I’ve struggled with for a while, but I figured I’d just let you in on it, so here goes. I’m thinking of publishing completely different genres under pen names. I wanted to keep them separate from the Jordan Silver brand but now I’m not so sure. One genre is basically Young Adult high school stuff and the other is Fantasy/Paranormal. I would really like your opinions on the best course I should take. Thank you

Though you are starting new genres I think you should keep the same name. You have worked hard and earmed your reputation as a great writer, so though you are starting new writing genres, you are still going to be the same great writer. This will just be a new part to that writer. I actually dislike when authors start changing pen names, because when I really like them and want to support them I miss out if I didn’t know they changed. A writer to me is like being a mother, wife, daughter, etc. We grow while we are in those positions and become better for what we learn and experience, but as our thinking changes, as our actions change, our name still stays the same, because we still are who we are. We are just a better us. So my vote would be yay to the new writing, please keep the same pen name.

aww I hear you butterfly but i plan to share the names with you. The reason I’m going this route is because I’m planning on doing the teen stuff on wattled for free to start. I want to make sure you’re gonna like it before you buy into it

I read whatever you write. But , I don’t see why you would use a another name . Just write the stories that are in your head . The only stories I’m not interested in are those that kill while having sex and m/m. I ABSOLUTELY adore Eden High . So young adult and/or paranormal are great reads . You write, I read. If you do decide to go to another name , please let us know it’s you.

I say use the a new pen name just because there will be YA reading them and they won’t be ready for the adult books just yet when they search for your books. But I would definitely read your YA/fantasy books. Do you plan on writing NA? That would be pretty awesome with your writing style. I can’t wait to see what you release.

You have a wonderful gift. We love you and all your books. In a way we are a family. The pen name does not
make the book. The author writing the word does. Just as you have done with all your books you will blow them all away. Then have us all begging for more. Now let’s do this. We gotcha back.

As a Media Specialist I can understand your need to separate your genre of writing especially if you high school writing is geared toward teenagers .Other than that I think that what ever you write is just fine no matter the genre.

Makes sense to use pen names for different Genres. No matter what they will be a hit. If God gave you the gift then using it for all age groups and reaching a bigger audience makes sense. Your butterflies will support you no matter what!

I think you should do it but under the Jordan Silver name. I have seem others do this using same name. They are sure to put this is something different in description. Also the book covers tend to have different looks. I would love to read young adult series you would write.

I love paranormal and SIFI. I would for sure check those out. I don’t read a lot of High School. I do read young adult, college age. If you got stories in your head that are begging to be told. Tell them. You might just find yourself with a whole new species of butterflies.

I believe you should follow your heart. However you choose to write and publish… it will be followed and read. I read many genres.. cowboys, country, sci-fi, mysteries, action, insta-love, and erotica… my daughters also read many teen and young adult series. Some from authors that I’m already reading. Good luck and keep writing!! Our world would not be same without you momma B!!

I read the first chapter of The Life by Cami York . If this book is completed I would rather read as a whole book and buy it. Please please please release it so we can buy and read as a whole. I never read when you release the first couple of chapters of a new book coming out as it spoils it when the book is finally released to buy. I love all the books you write , so just reading the story line is enough to get me interested and hooked for when you release them. Fiona

I’ve loved all the books you’ve published. I think I’ve read almost all of them on kindle unlimited if I know of another pen name you use I’d also read them. You can’t just use the Jordan silver name to publish different kinds of books? It really comes down to what you as the author feels is the best thing to do. ❤️

I’m with Carmen and Barbara. You write it I will read it. I do see the why you would consider using different pen names. Those who would never consider reading a Jordan Silver book may not give your YA or Paranormal books a try, just because of the Jordan Silver branding. In the interest of expanding your army. Go covert for your YA and Paranormal books. Just keep us in the loop, so we can find them. Once you establish your armies under those genres, you can bring them into the butterfly fold.
