Be of good cheer

When Israel asked for a king, Yah told us that a king will send our sons to war, tax us, and in short rule over us not for good but for evil. Today this is very evident in the world. A handful of men ruled by a governing head get to decide the fate of the masses. When you get up in the morning and go to work, you’re working for yourself. When your so-called leaders go to work, they’re doing the same. This is why a public official who makes $174000 a year, can afford a  2 million dollar home, luxury cars and boats. How many of you out there who makes that know that that’s damn near impossible? Or financially careless at the very least? Those of you who know, know there is only one way to beat this. Pray!!!

Pslam

37 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

  1. “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men to do nothing”. (Attributed to Edmund Burke). However powerless we may feel, we can pray to God that he will open the hearts and minds of the powerful and grant them wisdom and compassion so that they will want to care for all people and this beautiful world that we are privileged to live in.

  2. I thought of that scripture even before all the voting was done. And though I knew I wouldn’t like the time that was about to come. I took comfort in the knowledge that God is the same today as He was yesterday and will be tomorrow. Which means, none of this is new to Him and just as He supplied for this kind of time then, He will do so again now. The Bible is not only encouragement, but it is instructional, letting us know nothing happening today is new. It happened before and He answered. He has given us the tools, it is up to us to do our parts, that God may do His. Prayer and faith are best effective with action. That action may be different things for people and come at different times for people. Taking this time to encourage others in the midst of all that is going on, reminding us of where our help comes is an example of this. I think James 2:14-26 is a good showing that the actions do not have to be extreme to have an impact.
